Where can you get dinner on a Tuesday in early November? In Aspen this fall, it depends on the night of the week and on how close the date is to two days on the ski calendar.
Aspen Snowmass has scheduled Aspen Mountain and Snowmass to open Nov. 26, 2026, with Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk following on Dec. 12, according to The Aspen Times. On the eatAspen Fall 2026 off-season guide, the seasonal closures end around those same two dates. The fall break is really two closing windows that follow the lifts, and a fair number of kitchens stay open throughout.
The Kitchens That Stay Open
Most of the restaurants that stay open this fall are working shorter weeks or closing earlier. The table below lists the schedules posted on eatAspen's Fall 2026 guide, plus restaurant-run pages where they exist.
| Restaurant | Where | Fall 2026 pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Campo de Fiori | 205 S. Mill St. | Open all off-season; Tuesday through Saturday at 6 p.m. since Oct. 11, closed Sunday and Monday |
| Matsuhisa | 303 E. Main St. | Open all off-season; upstairs closed Oct. 6 to Dec. 11 except Mondays, with Monday night football specials upstairs and at the bar downstairs |
| Yuki | Downtown Aspen | Open; closed Tuesday and Wednesday through Nov. 18 |
| Las Montañas | 205 S. Mill St. | Happy hour 3 to 5 p.m., dinner from 5 p.m. every night; no lunch again until mid-December |
| Catch Steak | 515 E. Hopkins Ave. | 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday |
| CP Burger | 433 E. Durant Ave. | Open all off-season; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, until 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday |
| Crepe Therapy Cafe | 401 E. Cooper Ave. | Open daily; 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, until 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday |
| Explore Books Cafe | 221 E. Main St. | Cafe 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days, bookstore until 5 p.m. |
| Steakhouse No. 316 | 316 E. Hopkins Ave. | Open, dinner nightly |
| Woody Creek Tavern | 002 Woody Creek Plaza | Open |
Campo de Fiori's own website gives the same Tuesday through Saturday, 6 p.m. schedule. eatAspen also lists New York Pizza, Little Ollie's, Phatt Pho, Roxy's Market & Cafe, the Limelight Lounge and Clark's Market as open. Aspen Brewing Co. at 121 S. Galena St. is open almost all fall, from noon to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends, with a short closure from Nov. 9 to 17.
Put the rows next to each other and the off-season looks like a schedule puzzle. Monday is the hard night at Campo de Fiori and the one night Matsuhisa opens its upstairs room. Tuesday and Wednesday are the nights to skip Yuki until Nov. 19. Dinner at Catch Steak ends at 8:30 p.m. on weeknights, and CP Burger closes at 6 p.m. most days. The question to ask is which night you're going out and how late.
West End Social at Aspen Meadows changes its hours partway through November. From Nov. 9 to 23 it skips breakfast and lunch and serves from 2 to 9 p.m., then goes back to 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 24. The Aspen Meadows dining page lists the same November window.
Already Closed by This Week
By Oct. 22, the first group of closures has already happened. Duemani closed Sept. 29. Bosq and Cache Cache both ended their summer seasons in early October, and Cache Cache's last night was Oct. 3. Betula's and PARC Aspen's closures started Oct. 11 and The Wild Fig's on Oct. 18. French Alpine Bistro's last night was Oct. 21.
A few more close soon:
- Oct. 25: Seasonal closures start at Aosta, 219 E. Durant Ave., and The Monarch Steak House, 411 S. Monarch St.
- Oct. 31: Jing's closure starts at 413 E. Main St., and Mawa's Kitchen at the Aspen Airport Business Center serves its last dinner. Mawa's last brunch before the break is Sunday, Nov. 1.
- Early November: Red Mountain Grill at the Aspen Golf Course plans a two-week closure, and its exact dates are still listed as to be determined.
These breaks vary a lot in length. Aspen Brewing Co. closes for nine days and Jing for less than three weeks. Aosta and Monarch close for about a month. Cache Cache's break runs from its Oct. 3 last night to a Dec. 11 reopening, which is more than nine weeks.
The Return Follows the Lifts
Some restaurants have posted a reopening date. Others have only posted the date their closure ends, so call those before you go. Here is the order, with the dates as eatAspen lists them.
- Nov. 18: Aspen Brewing Co.'s Nov. 9 to 17 closure is over.
- Nov. 19: Yuki goes back to opening on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Nov. 20: Jing reopens at 4:30 p.m.
- Nov. 24: West End Social goes back to full days.
- Nov. 25: French Alpine Bistro reopens.
- Nov. 26: The listed closures for Aosta, The Monarch Steak House and The Wild Fig run through this date, and Betula is listed as closed "till November 26th." Willow Creek Bistro at the Ritz-Carlton Club is listed as closed until Thanksgiving week. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass open for skiing.
- Dec. 4: Duemani reopens.
- Dec. 10: Bosq's listed closure ends, and Mawa's Kitchen brings back breakfast and brunch.
- Dec. 11: Cache Cache reopens, and Matsuhisa's upstairs dining room opens every night again.
- Dec. 12: Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk open.
- Dec. 15: PARC Aspen's listed closure ends, and Mawa's Kitchen resumes dinner.
The first wave ends on Nov. 26, and the second spreads across the days around Dec. 12. Nov. 26 is also Thanksgiving, and West End Social has listed its Thanksgiving dinner for Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, from 2 to 8 p.m. That puts opening day, the holiday and the end of the largest group of closures on the same Thursday. eatAspen notes that Matsuhisa and Yuki are both closed on Thanksgiving, so two of the kitchens that stayed open all fall take the holiday off.
For owners hosting family Thanksgiving week, or welcoming rental guests who arrive for opening day, holiday reservations come down to a short list of places that are confirmed open that night. It's worth booking ahead.
Signs the Shoulder Season Is Getting Shorter
Two newer projects suggest Aspen is working to fill the quieter weeks.
The first already happened. The Aspen Chamber Resort Association held its first Aspen Restaurant Week Autumn from Sept. 21 to 27, 2026, with multi-course menus at $45, $75 and $95, The Aspen Times reported. ACRA's announcement pitched the week as a reason for locals and visitors to eat out during fall. Yuki, Matsuhisa, Catch Steak, Las Montañas and West End Social all appear on ACRA's participant list. Each of the five is also staying open through this off-season.
The second is a longer project. Construction started this summer on the Armory Hall redevelopment at 130 S. Galena St., where the city of Aspen and general contractor Shaw Construction are turning the historic building into a food hall and community event space. The city's announcement puts completion in fall 2028. The city has also asked for proposals from hospitality operators to run the hall once it's finished. Crews work 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, with no work during the Aspen Saturday Market. Expect parking, sidewalks and access routes around the block to change as the work moves along.
A smaller change is listed for this winter. eatAspen shows ZigZag at 624 E. Cooper Ave. closed for the off-season, with "Le Cafe coming December 2026" listed for the same address. No opening date has been posted.
Filling the Nights Between Dinners
The off-season calendar is also full of evenings to plan dinner around.
- Saturday, Oct. 24: Aspen Film screens "Rocky Horror Picture Show" at Belly Up. It's the night before the Aosta and Monarch closures begin.
- Sunday, Oct. 25: The free "Swap, Don't Shop" clothing exchange runs from noon to 3 p.m. in the Dunaway Room of the Pitkin County Library, 120 N. Mill St., according to the city.
- Oct. 29 to 31: Belly Up hosts Metalachi, then Digable Planets, then COCO & BREEZY on Halloween night.
- November at Belly Up: Easy Jim plays Nov. 6, Beach Weather Nov. 7, Emotional Rescue Nov. 13, The Black Angels Nov. 14, Bonobo Nov. 20 and Live Wire Nov. 21. The Bonobo show falls on Jing's reopening night, and Jing serves from 4:30 p.m.
Schedules change, especially in the weeks before the lifts start running. Call ahead before you head downtown on a quiet weeknight.
